As the days begin to get shorter, there is a nip in the air and the farmers harvest is aplenty, we begin to notice that fall is upon us. It is this time of the year when we begin to look forward to the holidays, baking smells and a warm cup of cocoa by the fire.
Here in Yamhill county there are a multitude of activities enjoying the agriculture of our area, along with the fun of the season. There are plenty of farms with family friendly activities. Probably the biggest one around is at Heiser farms. They have the basic pumpkin patch, but they also have farm animals, hay rides, train rides and more. To find out more, check their website here.
If you are looking for locally grown produce that is either u pick or already picked and ready for you, then Draper farms just outside of town is a great choice to visit. You can check them out of facebook here.
Now if haunted houses or Granaries in one case are what you are looking for then there are 2 of them local that will knock your socks off. There is the Carlton Granary, it is a fund raiser for the Carlton Community foundation. You can check out their facebook page here for days and hours. Then the last but definitely not least is the Seward Family Haunted Forest. From what we understand you have to purchase your pictures in advance and it has very limited hours and parking.
