Bella Casa Real Estate Group is once again very excited to be participating in the monthly First Friday Newberg Downtown Art Walk on August 5th from 5 pm until 9 pm. This month we are featuring local artist, Myrna Anderson. The following bio is taken from Myrna’s website, www.myrnaanderson.com.
“I have been living and doing art from my studio in Oregon on Chehalem Mountain for the past 22 years. My love of art started as a child growing up in Maine where I loved to observe and explore nature and the out-of-doors. This love of nature expresses itself in my artwork. Although I paint a variety of subjects, my main focus is on birds, flowers, and landscapes. My paintings are done in watercolor, acrylic and collage.
To obtain subject matter for my art, I take advantage of local parks and zoos, observe birds in the wild and visit wildlife sanctuaries where I take numerous photographs. My travels have taken me throughout Europe and Greece, to bird sanctuaries in India and Nepal, and many refuges across the United States.
In addition to painting on canvas and paper, I also create murals in private homes and businesses. I am a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon and I have participated in the Art Harvest Studio Tour of Yamhill County Oregon since 2003. My work can be seen at Currents Gallery as well as various local venues and at my studio which is open by appointment.”
On the first Friday of every month the very best of local art is on display – all in one centralized location! You’ll see talent that has been encouraged and developed by our very own landscape – the vineyards, the mountains, the buildings, the people… It’s nothing short of inspiring. And although the art is the reason we gather, it gives an opportunity for tasting fantastic local wines and engaging with others our community. You won’t be disappointed if you do come out for a few hours. You’ll be surprised by how much fun it is and impressed by everything that Yamhill County has to offer.
